During the year we submit a weekly “report” to the local press.  This year we are planning on publishing them here on the website as well so that you can see some of the things we get up to in meetings etc.

1st July :

Llanrwst

Rotary Last weeks meeting of Conwy Valley Rotary, presided over by John Mitchell, members welcomed Rotarian James Thomas, District Public Image Team Leader, where details of the forthcoming Eisteddfod Genedlaethol were discussed. At the end of the meeting President John handed the chain of office to Graham St. John Gillan, and wished him well in his forthcoming year of office.

Llanrwst Gala Day Conwy Valley Rotary is holding Llanrwst Gala Day on Sunday July 7th at Gwydir Park, car boot sale from 8am and events from 10.00am. Gala Day will be brimming full of fun and entertainment for all; the North Wales & North West Majorettes will be appearing too. Competitions for ‘best look alike character’, ‘best dressed pram’, ‘best dressed bike’, and ‘best dressed stall’ will take place. Traders wishing to attend the Gala Day should contact President John Mitchell on 07500 444143 (between 9am and 5pm) or call in at the Crafty Kitten, Llanrwst; or visit the website www.conwy-valley-rotary.org.uk where booking forms appear.

Blood Pressure Testing Come along and have your blood pressure tested free of charge at Llanrwst Gala Day on July 7th, a great opportunity to monitor your health, and no appointment necessary. The service, promoted by Conwy Valley Rotary, will be undertaken by the staff from Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed surgeries. This is part of the UK-wide service organised by Rotary in conjunction with the Stroke Association.

8th July :

No meeting to allow members to “recover” from spending the day at the Llanrwst Gala.

Rotary Last weeks meeting of Conwy Valley Rotary was presided over by John Mitchell where members enjoyed a social evening. Last Tuesday saw Rotary presenting 44 ‘Dictionary4Life’ to year 6 leavers at Ysgol Bro Gwydir and £10 book tokens to the school’s 13 pupils who have achieved 100% attendance throughout the year. The presentation of the book tokens were made in memory of the late Rotarian Bill Sudbury.

Eglwysbach

Rotary Last Tuesday evening Rotary presented 10 ‘Dictionary4Life’ to year 6 leavers from Ysgol Eglwysbach. The presentation, in memory of the late Rotarian Cath Roberts,  was made during the school’s end of year concert evening.

15th July

Llanrwst

Rotary Last weeks meeting of Conwy Valley Rotary was presided over by President Gaham St. John Gillan where members discussed planning for the Rotary stand at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol in Llanrwst, and the forthcoming Betws-y-Coed Duck Race to be held on August 26th Bank Holiday Monday. Conwy Valley Rotary will be supported by Rotarians from neighbouring clubs at the Eisteddfod. Why not drop by and see what Rotary does in the world.
